I have eaten at Crown and Goose several times and the service is frequently very slow and unresponsive. The decor is that of an authentic English pub. The patio is nice for a downtown outdoor drink in good weather. The interior is a normal loud drinking spot and often crowded. But the food is not so good. I got an egg dish for brunch today and the cook put a very large quantity of salt on it. I like salt but this was way over the top. Could be a great pub if management cared about quality of food and service. Prepare to wait after you are seated.
MoreAmazing food, atmosphere, and live jazz. Frog and Toad's Dixie Quartet swings hard! Very cool lounge themes to London Underground station.
MoreGreat service, awesome outdoor beer garden. Food looked great although we didn't have any
MoreThis is one of my favorite places to eat in Knoxville. It's a great pub where I can't tell if it's supposed to be upscale or homey. Why not both? The Goose has a great bar and good pubfare. Next door is a small space for private dinners. The catering is great as well.
MoreI've eaten here several times and enjoy the food and mentally but what really won me over was how well this establishment handled those that want to watch the World Cup. They had the previews on unlike other places the food came out hot and fresh. Thank you for providing a place for those that want to share this worldwide event together.
MoreAll I can say is this place had amazing brunch! Nice atmosphere and some cool eclectic options as well as some comforting classics. 10/10 would return!
MoreBrunch is fantastic. The place next door had a wait of over 45 minutes, but the Crown and Goose had no wait. They have a great patio and they also offer $3.00 Blood Marys and Mimosas.
MoreAtmosphere is different than the norm in Knoxville. Great place to hang out with friends. Outside yard is perfect in good weather. Rrcommend the cheese board and other appetizers. Good quality.
MorePlace was great, bartender was very dull and a bit unattentive. At least he was good at keeping my beer full.
MoreGreat place great service. Loved the fish and chips. Loved the cheese board. Park in the right place and they will validate your parking. Not across street. FYI. A touch overpriced. Drinks too expensive.
MoreDelicious food and craft cocktails. Had the ham and cheese sandwich today and it was great!
MoreAmazingly good fish n chips. Different than what I had in England and across the UK. With that said, they are great. Free parking and live music tops things off. Nice service, fast, and got everything perfect, 10 out of 10. Makes me want to move closer.
MoreLooking forward to a return visit. The food was very good, and the staff friendly.
MoreConsistently good food and service keep me returning, while the prices keep that from being as frequently as I'd like. Their vegetarian choices are slim pickings, while their beer, booze and wine selections are exotic. Free parking is available, which in Knoxville is a premium bonus, helping make up for the prices for non-handicapped people (whereas handicapped can park free almost everywhere).
MoreAsparagus and Sausage Pasta was very good, and I'd order it again. Our waiter was personable and provided great service. We all agreed the live music, although good, was much too loud and made conversation at our table challenging. We moved to a table further from the group but that helped only a little.
MoreNew beer launch...awesome. I tried the smoked salmon... perfect. Fish and chips here are also DELICIOUS!!!!! Cubes that are lightly beaded (not battered)...crispy on the outside while succulent on the inside. I'd stay away during trivia night unless you're participating...the questions are broadcast everywhere...including the bathrooms.
MoreGreat service, great food, and great drinks - all for just a little more than I would like to spend. It certainly has a little high quality feel to it than a lot of the other places in the Old City, but you do have to pay a premium for it. If you're alright with that, check this place out!
MoreThis was my second attempt in life to have brunch. I was with a few friends from Chattanooga visiting. The experience was excellent! Poached eggs over crab and potatoes was so delicious. The mimosas were really flavorful as well.
MoreAmazon gift happy hour deals. $5 wings and sliders. If you love Jazz you can't miss Frog &a Toad on Saturdays. The atmosphere is great, the service is amazing, and the food matches.
MoreI cannot say enough good things about The Crown & Goose. I love that it manages to keep the relaxed pub feel, but provide much better than pub quality food. The staff is always fantastic and the food is even better. They always have a great selection of beer and cocktails. In my opinion the best food you can find in Knoxville.
MoreFinally made it here this past weekend, and it was awesome! For dinner I had the lamb sliders - phenomenal! I was so impressed I want back the morning after and had the English Breakfast - still phenomenal! The service was fabulous! I can't believe I hadn't come here sooner. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!
MoreGreat place in the Old City. I'd strongly recommend going on a Tuesday for all day happy hour. Great beer selection and wonderful happy hour food choices. You don't want to miss the pimento cheese hush puppies!
MoreMy favorite old city restaurant. The ham and cheese is one of my favorite meals in all of Knoxville and the atmosphere can’t be beat. Perfect for both a quick beer and dinner out!
MoreGreat place for food and drinks. Staff is friendly and on the spot. They even changed the game from UT to another for me which I thought was nice. Food came out quickly and tasted great. I didn't have a drink as I had to drive but their selection was nice too. I liked the feel of the pub and look forward to returning soon.
MoreSoo pleasant. Relaxed, refined. On target.Do yourself a favor and just go.
Nice location, great atmosphere, good food
Great food in a fantastic pub atmosphere! Wonderful beer selection, innovative menu items and friendly staff. Highly recommended for a date night or awesome evening with friends. Also a good lunch spot!
MoreCozy spot for a delicious lunch. Beautiful bar and and crazy good apps 😊
First time at The Crown & Goose and I couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere was perfect and the wait staff were very attentive. Their version of a basic ham and cheese sandwich was a thing of beauty... The garlic aioli was perfect with gouda and fresh sliced ham. The waitress said they get their bread fresh from a local bakery, and I swear you can taste the difference from a basic chain restaurant. The bacon wrapped dates with blue cheese... 5/5 recommend. It was like a sweet & savory version of a jalapeno popper. Overall, definitely make your way to the Crown & Goose if you are in downtown Knoxville! 🙌
MoreFood was very good. Staff was attentive. Solid pub decor and great outdoor patio. Also provides free parking. Best - asked if they could turn up the sound during European Nights football and they gladly accommodated. If you are a soccer (football) fan, you must make this your place. Would recommend and will be back.
MoreGood beer selection and decent prices. The food was overpriced for the quality.
What a great atmosphere, selection of beers and whiskey and outstanding food. The staff is awesome too!
MoreGrilled ham and cheese was phenomenal. Fries were excellent. Duck sliders weren't as good as expected. Still not bad though. Charcuterie board was decent. Bread was excellent. Would've liked some meat to go with some of the cheeses. Good atmosphere. We sat outside in back. Plenty of shade with umbrellas. Waitresses did a great job. Nice and attentive
MoreAesthetically the place looks good the food wasn't terrible but I feel it was priced a little high for what you get. Biggest thing for us on this visit was waiting closer to 45 minutes for eggs. Also we weren't going to send back the steak and wait another 30-45 mins.
MoreAlways love this place. This time I tried the Devil on Horseback: Blue cheese-stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates. Fantastic.
MoreWent for lunch and got the Crispy chicken BLT. Overall it was good with the buffalo sauce, but the chicken breast was cut WAY too thick for a sandwich. The bread wasn't sturdy enough to hold it together, so I ended up having to eat it with fork and knife. It would've been SO much better with the same chicken cut in 2 parts, half as thick, so you could eat one in the sandwich and one apart if you wanted to. The place looked really nice, though staff, while nice, seemed a bit... Detached. Overall a good, if not great experience.
MoreThey've changed a bit over the years. They have a more upscale feel now instead of the pub vibe. You might feel a little uncomfortable not dressed up, if that sort of thing bothers you. We definitely weren't dressed up and no one on the staff treated us any differently. Service was excellent with the wait staff very knowledgeable of all the items on the menu. Customer service was phenomenal! We used a coupon we had that our waiter says they were no longer accepting. The manager came over and said they would honor it, because it was not our fault that the wrong information was given to us from the company issuing the coupon. It was wonderful to see a place that still does "the right thing", when it comes to customer service. Thank You!!!!!
MoreGreat food and service. Scottish food made fresh. Large portions. Definitely going back to try something different.
MoreI really enjoy this place they do food right with an English Flair I watched several World Cup games here and enjoyed everyone even though Croatia lost.☹
MoreFood was only "so-so". We had the hamburger and fish and chips. Both came with soggy fries. Fish was ok but the hamburger was charred (burned) around the edges. The mixed drinks we had were small and were very watered down. The food was not very well presented as it looked like they just threw it on the plate in a hurry. My fries were on top of the Cole slaw on my plate. Probably won't be going back. There are much better places in downtown Knoxville for the same or less money.
MoreGreat restaurant and pub! It has a very relaxed feel and is very welcoming! I visited with friends during Trivia night and we loved it! Food was also delicious! They have a great selection of bar drinks and foods. I gave 4 starts because this location does not have parking of its own, which leaves customers either paying $10 in a nearby paid parking area or parking under the overpass.
MoreIt was a Monday night and over half of the old city is closed. But we had decided it already to try the Crown & goose. I'm glad you made that choice. Our server was very very good. The bartender made great drinks. We had the fish and chips which is as good as you here it is. Nice quiet atmosphere. But then again it was Monday night. I would highly recommend this place.
MoreGreat food and knowledgeable staff on both food sources and their bar selection.
Good English pub-style food and interesting atmosphere. Broad selection of beers and liquors, all in a neat part of town. Could be considered a bit pricey, but certainly not expensive. Four of us ate dinner there, had a good time, were in no hurry, with each drinking various beverages and it came out to around $35/person
MoreBeautiful gastro pub with excellent food.
Had an incredible time at at The Crown & Goose Sat. night for our Phi Sig 1970's Reunion! Great staff and atmosphere. The Fish and Chips were terrific. Thanks!
MoreWe went for bunch. It was good. We hade the Chesapeake Eggs Benedict and the Waffle with fruit compote. They were both wonderful. The server was very helpful with all my questions. Definitely will be back
MoreI had the fish and chips, it was delicious. A friend I ate with loved their duck pasta. The staff was very friendly and the beer selection wasn't entirely abysmal (which is the standard for Knoxville). Highly recommend a visit here if you live in Knoxville. If you're visiting, there are better places you could eat.
MoreOne if my favorite places in the old city. Nice beer selection and the food is excellent. Sunday brunch is one of the best in town. Live Jazz on Friday night is always a good time. Great atmosphere!
MoreReally enjoyed the music and the food was great.
